The First Hour of Your Day

The first hour of your day sets the tone for the rest of your day, so be very cognizant of what you do in that first hour.


I'm not saying you should do what I do: I wake up and have a cup of coffee and I

pray for 30 minutes.  Then I meditate for 20 to 30 minutes, then I affirm my day. I write on a piece of paper all the things I want to have happen throughout the course

of the day.


Watch: here’s my list for today. It’s the same list I’ve done for the last 15 years, I put the day and the date on there, and Number One says, “Today’s an excellent day, I’m at my very best all day and all night long.”


Number Two says, “I’m patient, positive, persistent, powerful, focused, disciplined, organized, and courageous.”


All of these are about getting me, Steve Beck, ready for this day. All getting all these things aligned with me. I want to be aligned with being patient and positive and persistent.


What things do you want to be aligned with in your day? Pay attention to what you do first thing in the morning: it's going to set the tone for the rest of the day. And if you get a habit of doing really positive things first thing in the morning, I bet you'll have a positive day – and life.
