"If Only One Prayer"

 

A couple years ago, I read about a guy who lived in 1550 – the 16th century.

​

He said, “If there is only one prayer you say, have it be ‘thank you’.”

​

So, one of the things I do when my head hits the pillow at night, is that I say, “Thank you”. I say that because of something I heard when I was younger: “Honor your mother and father.” So, a lot of the times I say thank you at night, I’m thanking my mother and father for the gift of life they gave me so many years ago. And it’s important to me that I do say thank you to them.

Have you thanked your parents lately for your life? Give it a shot! Write them a letter – call them up – invite them for dinner, to your house, out to dinner, at their favorite restaurant!

​

He was right, back in 1550. If the only prayer you say is, ‘thank you’, that could be enough.
